Safety on the college campus is a natural source of concern for parents, students, and college employees.  When students head off to college, their safety is probably not the first thing in their minds. However, college campus safety is of great importance. Students will often be walking at night by themselves, along dimly lit paths or city streets. They will be meeting many students and adults who are strangers to them.  Parents should make it a high priority to discuss ways that their college bound kids can protect themselves and stay safe on campus.  Students should also take it upon themselves to try to avoid putting themselves in potentially dangerous situations.  Education can take place only in an environment in which each student and employee feels safe and secure.  This Storify piece will show just how important campus safety is and different ways to protect yourself while on campus.
